At this stage, research is currently being conducted at Monash University in Melbourne. There are also universities around the world looking into suitability for children and adolescents. Until results have been published and approved, TMS is unapproved for individuals under 18 years of age in Australia.
If so therapy has not yet been tested on pregnant women. Unfortunately treatment is not recommended for this group at this stage.
TMS therapy should NOT be used to treat patients with metal implants. This includes implants controlled by physiological signals. (e.g., including pacemakers, vagus nerve stimulators (VNS) or implantable cardioverter defibrillators).
TMS treatment is a therapy that is still emerging. Research is currently underway in relation to many areas discussed above.
